FELT BICYCLES UNVEILS THE NEW VR: BRIDGING THE GAP BETWEEN ROAD & GRAVEL
FELT is thrilled to announce the launch of the latest addition to its lineup – the new FELT VR, a groundbreaking all-road bike designed to redefine your cycling experience. Created for those who crave adventure on all types of surfaces and long fast days in the saddle the VR sits between the race-ready FR and the Gravel BREED CARBON race rig. No slouch on the road yet fully capable on varied surfaces, the new FELT VR slides into the gap, offering the best of both worlds. Packed with cutting-edge features, the new FELT VR is set to deliver unparalleled performance, comfort, and versatility.
Key Features:
1. Bold and stylish 900g carbon frame.
The new FELT VR makes a huge leap forward in terms of style and functional design with bold I.D. lines and unique structural solutions. Its new frame establishes a fresh standard with a single carbon layup across all models, ensuring optimal strength and stiffness without compromising weight and compliance. The advanced construction technique, utilizing high-quality unidirectional carbon fiber, achieves the perfect balance of comfort and stiffness while maintaining a mere 900g frame weight. This alone sets the new FELT VR as one of the lightest All-Road /Endurance bikes available on the market.
2. Sloping seatstays with variable section for max comfort.
The new FELT VR ensures the perfect balance of stiffness and flexibility with sloping seatstays featuring variable cross-sections. While the R&D team decided on a classic double-diamond design to stress stiffness and responsiveness on the new FR, they preferred a dropped seatstays solution to enhance the comfort over the reactiveness of the rear triangle on the new VR. This innovative design makes the new FELT VR suitable for long-distance rides and more varied road conditions. The result is a bike that is nearly as snappy as the FELT FR on the tarmac and just about as compliant as the FELT Breed Carbon on gravel: one bike for riding everything…fast.
3. Gravel-like tire clearance.
Embrace versatility with increased tire clearance, accommodating tires up to 38mm according to the ETRTO standard. This provides riders with the freedom to choose larger tires for enhanced comfort and adaptability across various terrains.
4. Aero-like integration: internal cable routing, one-piece cockpit.
The FELT VR's integrated one-piece cockpit minimizes aerodynamic drag and optimizes performance. Seamless handlebar and stem integration contributes to a clean and modern appearance. The internal cable routing not only reduces drag but also maintains sleek lines for a clutter-free aesthetic as this bike is designed to be both capable AND fast. 5. Integrated seatclamp.
Adapting a technology that FELT initially developed for its flagship gravel rig, the BREED CARBON, the new FELT VR pushes you to ride faster and farther thanks to its unique TaperLoc seatpost system and integrated seatclamp. When running a 27.2mm seatpost, the new FELT VR can utilize its proprietary, vibration-damping sleeve to mitigate highfrequency bumps and terrain chatter. If you prefer your favorite 30.9mm seatpost, you're also good to go without the sleeve.
6. Dropper post ready & anti vibration sleeve.
The new FELT VR offers enhanced versatility as it can also accommodate a 27.2 dropper post for increased off-road versatility while still using its proprietary vibration-damping sleeve. Get ready to experience a whole new level of handling prowess and capabilities that span the gap between road and off-road.
7. D-Shape steering tube.
The unique D-shape steering tube ensures perfect integration without compromising the volume of the head tube and contributes to the bike's streamlined appearance. In combination with classic road bike headset bearing in 1 1/8” and 1.5”, this provides seamless integration without excessive increase of the headtube volumes that would affect the aerodynamics and aesthetics of the bike.
8. New UDH hanger and T47 asymmetrical bottom bracket.
Experience increased durability and ease of replacement with the stiffer and stronger UDH hanger. The T47 asymmetrical threaded bottom bracket design eliminates creaking and provides enhanced chain drop protection on the drive side.
9. Mechanical group sets ready.
Designed with versatility in mind, the new FELT VR has been designed to accommodate mechanical groupsets. Accordingly, FELT can offer an entry-level product which is affordable without sacrificing anything in terms of the quality of the frame and carbon lay-up. It can also be built as 1x, with a specific design plastic blanking plate covering the derailleur mount for the last marginal gains.
The New FELT VR will be available in 5 different versions:
• VR | ADVANCED | ULTEGRA Di2 (Lightning White / Felt Black / Fast Orange)
• VR | ADVANCED | 105 Di2 (Fast Orange / Felt Black / Disruptive Blue)
• VR | ADVANCED | 105 Di2 (Disruptive Blue / Lightning White / Fast Orange)
